What a day for the start to the semester! Horrible cold wet misty yuk. Spent most of the day quietly in the office but then had to trek through the Meadows to the eye pavilion to see about my possible age related macular degeneration diagnosis. Have waited ages for this to come through, so wasn't very happy to arrive and find that it was cancelled as today's apparently an Edinburgh holiday (not that I'd noticed!). So, I wondered, why had they booked it for today? And why not the promised phone call to let me know? So....another drag back through the Meadows, sigh! At least the path was interestingly shiny...
