What, no bread?

Went for a walk round Brown Moss today which is a local nature reserve. When I came here as a child it was just Brown Moss and hadn't reached its eco status.
It's still lovely, but now has a fence around it and dogs have to be kept on a lead.

Whenever visiting the first check is how high the water is. Sometimes in summer it's dried to just a muddy puddle. Today, I would rate it as Quite High, considering the time of year.

There were hundreds of geese visiting, alongside the resident ducks, moorhens, and swans. These ducks came over to see us but turned tail when they realised we hadn't brought anything to feed them. They clearly know which side their bread is buttered.
