Skipping Day

A Scarborough tradition, so old no one can remember why or when it started, Skipping Day is a huge event on the seafront. Held every Shrove Tuesday, or pancake day, hundreds if not thousands of children and their families takeover the seafront road to skip in the afternoon.
It was a beautifully sunny day today, and school holidays, so this year was the busiest event for years.
