Damselfly

...teaches us to question the illusion we call reality, and most pointedly when our perception of said illusion is preventing us from growth. Seeing her brings impetus to transformation; she represents detachment from problems so that they can be solved.

For the first two years of life, dragon and damselflies live under water and are known as nymphs. Then they emerge to become the most marvelous of airborne insects in that they can fly backwards and are known to reach speeds of 30 miles an hour. One more interesting fact: they notice movement from 40 feet away. No wonder they can be difficult to photograph. :)
