Happy birthday

Today is the fella's birthday which reminded me that OBD has now been in existence for a year. Can't be totally sure but a year ago yesterday is almost certainly when she was conceived after his birthday lunch at a Michelin starred restaurant (had to celebrate the day before as I had to travel to San Francisco on his birthday). So it's fair to say this year's birthday was somewhat different but still great.

We decided to go to the Cotswolds wildlife park which was ace - loads of animals, a nice layout with the only downside being the cafe was pretty crap and I'd forgotten to do a picnic. Giraffes are one of my favourite animals and OBD likes chewing on her Sophie the giraffe so we all enjoyed seeing these 3. OBD was mostly good except when she got overly tired - cue crying and screaming but both times we managed to get her to sleep. It's hard but easier when there's 2 of you to support each other. Fed her on a bench near some exotic birds - slightly better location than yesterday's feeding on a church bench near a graveyard! But needs must and is easier in a quiet location than a busy one as she's getting very nosy.

On the way back went via the daylesford farm shop to get supplies for a birthday BBQ. Which went well apart from OBD waking up just as it was ready (she seems to be going to sleep ok here but then wakes up about an hour later and takes a while to resettle). On the whole though she's not too bad and compared with the early days it's easy!
