Tunnel vision -1.

I love the Greenwich foot tunnel, (when the lifts are working.) I love the feeling of descending under ground and under the river and being enclosed in the narrow tiled tube.

I love the echo of footsteps and tic-tic-tic of the freewheel of my bike as I walk through. Why would you want to cycle through to save two minutes on your journey but miss out on the atmosphere and calmness?

I once heard four school kids who had camped at the mid point and were singing a capella pop songs. They had fabulous voices and with the echo the sound was so beautiful it nearly made me cry.

I love as well the fact that it is always more or less the same temperature. Nice and cool in summer and warm(ish) in the depths of winter.
