Ahoy there

another decision what photo to use. The day started with a very pleasant walk along the coastal route & harbour of Santa Barbara. Some of the boats on show were stunning and being a Monday morning a lot of maintenance was being carried out once all they had all returned from the Pacific with their daily catch. We saw lobsters, crabs and many a bird. There must have been over 1,000 boats in this harbour - some absolutely beauty's. One gem, that I must admit I had my eye on, was for sale for $200,000 - a bargain.... Being 34 degrees and only 10.00 in the morning we visited Santa Barbara's athletics stadium. Now this is where I stand on my soap box. From 08.00-22.00 daily, unless there is an event, this stadium is open to the public. There were runners, walkers, students sprinting up & down the stands training, baseball practice, American football training - all for free. Now granted its on the coast and a stunning place to train but we have a few battered old brick shacks that we call stadiums that we have to pay to get into... there's a reason we're so far behind in international sport.

Anyway.... back into the car we went and sadly left the pacific heading in land 300 miles to a beautiful little creek called Kernville (it's so small it doesn't even show up on my great map...) en route to Yosemite. Our beautiful lodge (Google Whispering Pines) is right on a river with huge mountains literally facing us. Being 4o degrees upon arrival it was straight into the pool to watch the sun disappear behind the forests. Again many a beautiful photo taken but a man up a mast was preferred over a mountain as there no doubt will be a few over the next couple of days.

Night night from Kernville
