To Follow the Recipe
When fellow blippers show pictures of damsons I am always tempted to ask if the damsons are going to be made up in to spiced pickled damsons according to the recipe of the "Punch Bowl" at Crosthwaite near Kendal.
I ask this because they are truly magnificent.
So, as good as my word, here you see damsons being prepared in accordance with the recipe. The booklet "A Taste of Damsons" was published by the Westmorland Damson Association in 1997 and I purchased this copy at Sizeragh Castle situate near to the Lythe Valley and which is the home of the finest damsons.
