TOUCH WOOD...

...the jinx seems to have lifted & this monster is ready to ship.

We had to replace the fingerboard three times & totally re-build the neck.

It's an acoustic "Chapman Stick" - you can see the size - the bench at the right is waist-height. It's played standing on a "pique" like a double bass.

The five strings on the left are tuned in 5ths - lowest string is a C - 2 full tones below the bottom E of the double bass!! The five on the right are tuned in fourths.

Please don't ask me about the logic behind this instrument - I did actually see Emmet Chapman playing his "Stick" in the "Mallemolen" in Hoeilaert. You can see him here.

Make of it what you will - this chap's going to Japan - amplified, it sounds like a cathedral...
