New Holland Honeyeater
Not a sunbird. I had a quick gander of the internet using my mobile and pick up why I have felt confusion whethere these are sunbirds. They previously were thought to be relatives and the names were used interchangeably as reference. Their survival is primarily result of feeding on nectar. They flit very rapidly about so I sat in a chair in my yard with camera at the ready. The combination in Spring and through summer of these birds with the red bansia blossom they are commonly seen supping on is one of my favourite sights. The bird I photographed a couple of days ago and uploaded here to blipfoto 'watching out' was one of these.
Have a lovely day or evening as the time zone case may be. I will be catching up with some more journals as soon as I can.
