Fig and Prune Compote
Dried Ing:
figs
prunes
cinnamon stick
star anise
Other:
orange peel
orange juice
raw brown sugar
Seep all the ingredients in orange juice overnight until they are plump.
Add raw brown sugar and gently simmer for two hours.
Allow to cool before bottling and storing in the fridge.
A luscious accompaniment to pancakes and waffles - serve with a dollop of cream or yoghurt.
