An ordinary life....

Debris...

Lacking in time and inspiration for photography at the moment but the garden table is still providing a good backdrop for autumnal debris from the garden. Quick snap and blip done.

Had a meeting with the Speech & Language Therapist this morning about Talking Mats, a quick and easy low tech communication system that will allow Alan to tell us lots of things about how he's feeling and what he wants / doesn't want. Really interesting stuff and I now have lots of homework to do in identifying all the Boardmaker symbols needed to allow him to use the system effectively.

In other news, I am struggling to keep my positive head on at the moment. I've had three pieces of devastating news since Saturday and just when I thought bad things come in threes so that's it finished, I've just been told something else that, whilst certainly not as devastating as the rest, has saddened me immensely.

One of Alan's new support workers Anna, the 19 year old blonde who he totally adores (and who wouldn't) has been offered a fantastic job in Madrid and is leaving us at the end of the month. I am genuinely excited for her and delighted at the amazing opportunity she's been given but I am so, so sad for my boy. Not looking forward to telling him. :-(
