Day Off in London

We three (me, hubby & ballet niece), headed into London today... this time trying the journey from Bushey. We headed to the Hard Rock Cafe, a bit of a tradition with said niece and filled our tummies for lunch. Afterwards, we split up as there was ballet shopping to be done and for us a wander around many of the statues and monuments around Hyde Park Corner and into Green Park. First time that I had seen the Bomber Command Memorial... and so blipped it. I liked the detail on the roof (replicating the geodetic construction used in the Wellington - it also incorporates sections of aluminium from a Halifax which was downed over Belgium in 1944, losing all eight crew). I also like the way the roof was open to the sky with the words... Per Ardua ad Astra.
