A Winning View
As quickly as the day started, the racing was over and the crowds disappeared back to their homes.
I cannot describe adequately in words how awesome the Moto GP is in person, especially when your favourite rider wins the race. The atmosphere at the circuit was incredible, especially from the Valentino Rossi stand. They had flags that flew whenever Rossi approached and the cheer that came from the stand was amazing.
Kirsty and I made friends with the Welsh couple sat next to us across the weekend which made it a friendlier atmosphere. It was so good being able to geek out about all the riders with someone else who loves the GP. There was a family of Brits (all grown men) who's youngest member (late 20's/early 30's) fell asleep during the Moto2 so the whole family moved seats to frighten him. It was so funny when he finally woke up, the look of confusion of on his face.
The races in themselves were incredible; there are so many Moto3 bikes, there were so many crashes (Rossi crashed right in front of us during the free practice in the morning), and the MotoGP race was filled with the top 4 racers passing each other on every corner. Dani Pedrosa went to overtake Marquez on the second to last corner to take the win and hit Marquez's wheel meaning Pedrosa dropped to third and Marquez went on to win. The very first GP I went to and my favourite rider won. It was incredible!
I already cannot wait to go back! Such an expensive weekend but so worth it. I can't believe we head back to Soggy Scotland tomorrow morning.
