Painful

A very disturbing day, trying to work out how this child got so injured. Difficult not to cry, even after 600 years.
There are 2 differential diagnoses, neither good.
These are the right ribs, probably numbers 7 and 8. Healed fractures.
The tooth development is usually pretty reliable as an indicator of age, so this wean was about 4. The length of the limbs would indicate that this wee babby was about as tall as a modern child of about 18 months.
