When I Grow Up

People always ask me what I want to do when I grow up, who I want to be. Well the truth is I want to be happy. I want to travel and be a good friend and have people who love me. I want to explore the world, but always have a place that’s waiting for me to come back to. I want to have an adventure, and never be bored or fall into the trap of a monotonous lifestyle. Too many people spend their lives preparing for the future; I want to live in the present. I know that this isn’t really what people mean when they ask me that question. They want to know what my job will be, and what type of house I’ll live in. I just don’t really think those are the most important things in life. I believe that how you feel matters more than what you have. So I’m not positive about what job I’m going to have, but hopefully it’s one that I like, and that allows me to travel. Maybe I’ll live in a small apartment with a cat and a hedgehog named Bubbles. Or maybe I’ll live in a big white beach house right on the sand with a hammock hanging on the back deck, facing the ocean. Truth is, I don’t really know what’s going to happen, and maybe that’s a bad thing, but maybe it’s a good thing.
