Ancient spin drier

Working with the conservation group in a community orchard today. It has all sorts of odd things tucked away in corners.
I remember as a child my mother having an old mangle like this and on washing day I sometimes turned the handle - and also got my fingers caught between the rollers, for which I got no sympathy!
