A warm welcome in Ide Hill, Kent.
Another local village. Ide Hill is four miles south-west of Sevenoaks at one of the highest points of the Greensand Ridge. Known for it's church on the hill, St Mary, which together with the local football pitch boast to be the highest in Kent.
Ide Hill was first recorded in 1250 as Edythehelle. It is an eponymic denoting 'Edith's hill', from the Old English hyll 'hill'.
The National Trust look after a large section of land behind the church and the local Emmetts Garden.
