Verona: morning view from Punte Piedra
In fair Verona, where we lay our scene...
The last day of my 3 month long Eurotrip. I arrived last night in Verona, planning only to stay for a couple of hours between my trains. Due to unexpected train scheduling, I ended up staying in Verona for the night. Thank God it turned out ok -I followed kindly strangers' instructions to a hostel and found a safe bed for the night!
I had only an hour in the morning to explore Verona before my 8.30 train, so took a brisk walk through old town Verona with my luggage strapped to my back. Verona is such a picturesque place! The buildings have a charming, old look about them. Everything was bathed in a morning glow, and things looked beautiful wherever I looked. The streets near here were filled with university students running and Vespa-ing (yes, they really use Vespas a lot in Italy!) to their 8am lessons. It's nice to see people going about their normal life amidst such beauty!
I want to return someday to see it all properly at leisure, and of course, to visit Juliet's house (the gates were closed when I went past!)
