St Mary's Church, Malton

St Mary's Priory, Malton. Surface of an eroded grave marker, probably from the mid Eighteenth Century, judging from the gravestones and inscriptions around it. I like the fact that several hundred years and the ever changing climate have helped to create the subtleties of this surface. Whoever was commemorated is now lost through the tablet but remembered through the parish records for as long as records exist.
