An apple for the teacher

They say an apple a day keeps the doctor away, so here's hoping! I am grateful to get to the end of the week without requiring medical intervention.....

I am still very croaky and can't speak loudly, more a husky yodel. Yesterday I was teaching about Galileo Galilei, and that was definitely a challenge. I think I sounded like a boy whose voice was breaking, much to the amusement of my Year 8 (first form) pupils. Although I did have a nice moment when one of the girls bounced past me with the cheery comment "Isn't science really exciting Mrs M?" I had to agree with her that it really is!

I know lots of others won't agree with me, but I'm also glad that the United Kingdom is still united.
