The old school yard

50 years ago I would be playing football at playtime down there in the old school yard.

This is the old Duke of Norfolk school in Old Glossop Derbyshire which is no longer in use except when featured in The Village ( BBC TV series 1 and 2.). Series 2 just finished last Sunday but is still on iPlayer for a few days.

That's the toilet block on the right - yes we really did have to cross the yard in all weathers when necessary.

In other news Scotland voted to stay in the United Kingdom - this was a bit of surprise I felt sure the people were going to seize the moment and take a chance. Let's hope it turns out well for all concerned. The future of democracy in whole UK seems like it's in the melting pot. They need to slow down and make the right decisions not quick decisions
