Pineapple experiment - two years later

Well, almost two years. The little pineapple top I planted two years ago in the little pot that now holds the African violet. Six months later, it was growing well. Six months after that, it was getting quite large. Now, as you can see, it is even bigger. In fact, it is too big for our conference room and is getting in the way. So, I polled around for a new home and found one on campus in the university's greenhouse which is used for research. Thanks to Glen Marlok for taking in the pineapple plant. It will be well cared for and act as a instructional aide. But first, It needs to be repotted and, hopefully, a baby pineapple will soon appear!

The map indicates its new home in the north end of the greenhouse. It will have other tropicals and succulents to hang out with.
