Grey Day at Bexhill
Bexhill on Sea is where motor racing started in the UK. It was on this very sea front. This sculpture, which was actually designed by the town mayor, commemorates that first race in 1902. The sculpture depicts the Frenchman Monsieur Leon Serpollet's steam driven "Easter Egg" which won the race.
I doubt he had a two year old monkey boy hanging on to the back of the car back then.
