I have voted
Today in 1893 New Zealand became the first country to give women the right to vote.
I can't begin to imagine what it would be like as a woman to not vote, to not have a bank account and no right to education.
I chose not to vote early. I like the ritual of walking to my local polling booth, presenting my quick vote card thingy and voting.
As per usual my eyes filled with tears. I live in a democracy and I can vote without fear or intimidation and have confidence the result it true and fair. What a privilege. People die for this right.
And now back to the reality of domesticity. Even woman who can vote still have domestic duties ;-)
