Never Lose Sight of the Sea

One of my favorite feel good, go to books, is Margot Datz's A Survival Guide for Landlocked Mermaids. I love this particular passage....

Mermaids must never lose sight of the sea- their instinctive home. Losing sight of our instincts landlocks us into routine and drudgery. It's like trying to waltz with an anchor. When we pludge into our instincts, our unconscious speaks to us in dreams, hunches, and unexplainable impulses. Like the language of dolphins, it is foreign to the untrained ear, but in the underwater world, it carries great intelligence.

The mermaid in the photo is trying to remember the last time she'd had a really good swim.

Great book- highly recomend for any other landlocked mermaids out there.
