Woodland Citadel
This morning, Orkney graced us with beautiful clear skies for the first time in what seems like ages. We have been enclosed in iron grey mists and low cloud for the best part of a week, the sun struggling but failing to break through.
My beautiful fiancée trundled off to do her early shift at work and I wandered up the hill with the woofers. Nice to be able to see them running through the heather again rather than watching as they disappear into the grey.
Back home for a coffee and then it was off to Birsay to look at a bathroom that needs to be re-fitted, and on to Stromness to move some pipes around. All the time I was looking at the great weather and wanting to be out enjoying it.
Home and a quick lunch and out with the woofers just as the drizzle started. Typical!
It eased off, but the views were blanked out again and I was stuck for a blip until I spotted these mushrooms growing out of an old tree stump. HV reckons that they look like a little citadel...
