A Tawny Frogmouth.

We visited a farm in Northumberland today with our grandson. There was lots to see and do. All kinds of animals to feed and pet, and this Tawny Frogmouth.
We came across a young lady in a field by herself, training this bird to fly to her for food. She came to show us the bird, and explained that it is only 13 weeks old, but already easily handled. She asked if our grandson would like to stoke it, and he readily did so, although he stopped at having it on his wrist.
I found it very interesting, as I'd never even heard of the bird before, and it was good to meet such a friendly young lady, who was ready to allow a four year old to get involved with it.
