Thunderstorm flooding and Pigeon saving.
Last nights storm caused the road to access our close to flood. We had 29mm of rain in just an hour! The drains just couldn't cope with the sheer volume of water. There was water pouring down our patio doors, it got in through the vents too.
After the storm passed, I took the dog out for her nightly walk before bed. She noticed a Pigeon on the floor in a dark corner, I couldn't leave it there to be attacked by a cat or be a foxes dinner. It was so shocked and wet that it couldn't fly. With the help of some neighbours I'd been talking to about the flooding holding the dog for me. I popped the Pigeon up on a balcony railing, not ideal but better than nothing.
Today the water has gone, road cleaners have been up and down clearing away the mess left behind. The pigeon has gone and there's no evidence he or she was unlucky during the night.
