Open House London - Queen Elizabeth's Hunting Lodg

The Queen Elizabeth Hunting Lodge was built in Epping Forest in 1543 by Henry VIII as a hunt standing. This photo is taken from inside the lodge & shows the view of the forest the king would have seen, more or less. Come to think of it I suspect Henry VIII didn't actually build it. I am sure he instructed others to do so.

This weekend is Open House London. There are an array of buildings that are open to the public this weekend. I was hoping to go on a tour of the workhouse in Walthamstow but I didn't get organised in time so instead I walked the 1.5 miles through the forest to the hunting lodge instead.
