Machrie Stone Circles, Isle of Arran

We arrived on the Isle of Arran yesterday for a week's break & what a lovely day today has been - both weather wise & with time to explore.

This is Machrie Stone Circle, with Arran's highest mountain Goatfell as the backdrop.

It was a long walk & quite a struggle but we made it & we were fascinated at these ancient burial grounds. This is one of 5 stone circles with some ranging from many many stones to 3 or just single standing stones.

Fascinating!
