Window of opportunity

I was walking along Brasenose Lane in Oxford and saw this open gate into (I think) the Divinity College. It seemed like a nice metaphor both for the gateway of opportunity that universities offer and the division between town and gown. Or maybe I'm just over-analysing :-)
