Just looking around

Farewell Ivy

Made a bunch of flowers to accompany a neighbour on her journey to Paradise. She often told us of childhood memories of hop picking holidays in Kent and as a young woman working at a munitions factory on the West End of London: the day a bomb caused the glass roof of the workshop to shatter and crash down on her and others leaving her to walk covered in blood home to Battersea; and the house in Vauxhall where the end wall had collapsed exposing the bedrooms and toilet to the street below.
And happier days sitting out on the lawn on summer days, and inviting my daughter in one autumn afternoon to make a wish and stir the Christmas pudding mixture.
May you rest in peace Ivy.
