Red Wattle Bird

I have never really been a "birder" or a "macro jockey" but I have frequently been impressed by the wonderful bird and insect images which many of you have provided - especially over the last year or two, it seems. I have decided to develop my skills in these areas if I can although I may have to go to the doctor's and get a prescription for "patience pills" at some point. Anyway we'll see.

I did buy the superzoom as a convenient tool for casual birding and have in mind the M.Zuiko 60mm macro for use with my OMD (next savings goal). This morning some wattle birds were outside my window making a fuss and hidden among the front porch vegetation was what appeared to be a youngster intent on some flight training, perhaps. The older birds seemed to be shouting advice but this one just sat there and watched me shoot some pictures before ultimately making off when my back was turned.
