Evening sky

It is the very beginning of fall here in North Carolina, and the days are shorter but the sunsets longer. There is something about this time of year and the tilt of the earth that extends the twilight hour for precious extra minutes. In the summer the heat seems to burn off the sunset, so the time between direct sunlight and darkness is fleeting. In the winter the sun sets so early that twilight is unexpected and almost always missed. It is my favorite time of the day.
Today in particular I enjoyed the back lit sky, which glowed in many hues while the earth was all shadows without darkness. I try to "jog" (fast walk) during this time of eveing, because I enjoy the feel of the air so much.
