Merefest 2014

I had great fun documenting Merefest 2014 yesterday evening. (well the evening part anyway) A lantern procession made its way around to a clearing in the woods where a shadow play was performed, it was excellent, especially as Tracy was one of the shadow puppeteers. As well as all this there were some magnificent big lanterns of which the man fishing in the boat was probably my favourite.

From a technical point of view documenting a procession through woods on a dark night is somewhat tricky is there was almost literally no light to use, press and hope essentially. Was glad for a camera that goes up to 12800 ISO and a very good wide lens, everything was shot at f2.8 to get even a hope of something other than a blur.
