Patuxai

There isn't a huge amount going on in Vientiane. This is pretty much the biggest thing to see, built to resemble the Arc de Triomphe with US-purchased cement that was supposed to have been used for a new airport.

Vientiane is probably the quietest and most chilled capital city I've ever been to, which includes previous visits to places such as Luxembourg and Mbabane in Swaziland. They're hardly teeming metropolises.
