coffee in a cold climate

Temperatures below freezing today and -18 degrees in Braemar according to one of my friendly local shopkeepers (there's aye someone worse aff). Despite that, the skies are blue and this relatively recent quirky addition to the local cafes is clearly hopeful someone or two will feel like having a coffee pavement style (possibly only a smoker on a day like today!)

I remember when they started painting the facade of this wee cafe just before it opened about two years or so ago, liking the boldness of the design, eye catching against the frilly, pink and spotty nearest neighbour.

Having a local day today, been at the plot to get a wee bonfire going, now about to bake a gluten free cake for my plot friend Liz who is having me to tea to discuss a how to compost leaflet we have been working on for our fellow plot holders. Of such genuine small pleasures is the freedom of retirement made.
