Postcard From Leicester
If Chippy hadn't been on the boat with us, I would have emailed him this shot of the canal at Leicester.
He originates from Leicester and had spent his youth fishing in the canal, he showed us the very spot! We had often talked about doing the Leicester Ring but he had never been keen.
Well, there was an area of derelict factories but really, the trip past the city was very nice, very clean and modern. I liked this shot because the terracotta of Tescos matched our flowerpots and the red bridge matched our roof edges.
An enjoyable bit of a very scenic holiday. Canals were built to be beside towns and factories, so in our use of them for leisure, we have to accept that.
