Holy mallow, Batman

According to the Dictionary of Word Origins that I bought from a charity shop this week, the name hollyhock originates from Middle English's holi ( holy ) and hoc ( mallow ).
The mallow was thought to be holy because in both mediaeval Latin and Welsh it was known as " blessed mallow " and thought to have healing properties.
I love words.
I quite like this deep burgundy colour too.
