Haircut for the house...

Today we decided it was time to chop the clematis, that climbs up the front of our house, down from the gutters.. what we didnt anticipate was that the whole things was going to come down. At least now we can see the porch so that it can be painted.. it is in much need having been under the growth for a few years! What a lot of growth we now have to get rid of.. it should make a good bonfire in a few weeks time (can feel a smokey sunset blip coming your way!). One good thing is the amount of light that is now able to get in through the kitchen window and doors. We have three clematis montana.. and most of this growth is from one of them.. I think we might remove it if we can as there is precious little room for this size of plant to grow so we are fighting a losing battle year on year.

These delicioius corn on the cob were our lunch after the hard work nearly done! Mmmm..
