Paddling pool
By all rights, if I were to have captured the highlight of my day today, my Blip would have focused on a dimly-lit corner of a small, semi-rural local pub; and in particular, on a cozy corner bench seat and table, situated just to the side of a gorgeous, warm, roaring fire. This is because I had a day off today, and found myself in just such a magical place for my lunch. Add a giant plate of smoked haddock with cheese sauce on a bed of mash (the ultimate winter comfort food!) and you'll have the complete picture. It was heavenly!
I did eventually peel myself away from the lovely warmth and continued along the road to North Berwick. It was a very cold day with heavy, grey clouds so the beaches weren't quite their stunning, sunny selves. Nevertheless, you can't beat the sea air and the sound of the waves in any kind of weather.
This is a photo of a tide-filled boating/paddling pool along one of the town's beaches. The water is so shallow and still that the rocks are clearly visible below the surface.
