Otley Ukulele Orchestra

This morning the four of us met up with onedavid for a coffee in Bingley. We had such an enjoyable catch up before heading off for our only planned event of the afternoon… The Otley Ukulele Orchestra.

Rich hasn’t played an instrument since a minor dabble with a recorder when he was really young and has talked about wanting to play an instrument for some time (the penny whistle developed into a bookshelf ornament). The ukulele spirits were definitely talking to him this weekend. He wanted to see the orchestra when we first got the programme, much talk went on about wanting to play one and last night he happened to chat to two girls who were in the orchestra, encouraging him to join. The orchestra today was fabulous and encouraged new people. Rich is definitely hooked on the idea.

After an unexpectedly delicious Thai meal at the Nam Jai in Otley, research is currently being done for his birthday present by Rich and my musician sister before she goes home tomorrow.

So, the only way to reflect the day is with this wonderful colourful lady playing her ukulele in the orchestra.
