Chem-Chem Titration

A beautiful break from the Maths prelim this morning (which, by the way, made me feel like my soul was being ripped out) was our PPA in Chemistry for the two last periods of the day. We were finding out the mass of Vitamin C in a Vitamin C tablet. Through much mixing, measuring, titrating etc we figure out it contained 1430mg of Vitamin C, actually more than the claimed amount of 1000mg. The orange solution is Vitamin C dissolved in deionised water, the brown solution in the pipette is iodine, the red thing is a device for dropping solution out of the burette and the mummified bottle in the background is the hastily wrapped leaking iodine container, which subsequently stained my (and almost everybody's in the class) hands yellow. I now look like a chain-smoker. Good experiment, though. Nice to forget the living hell that was Maths for two hours :) Last prelim tomorrow; Computing, so should be quite enjoyable :)
