Tonight Newport took on last years Champions Pontypridd at Rodney Parade. Another toughie at the start of the season but we did beat them last season at home, albeit they did have a weakened side due to cup commitments. Although we kept in touch for most of the game there always seemed that there was more to come from Ponty, and with a couple of tries late on in the match the score line flattered Ponty.

Newport has a few strong attacks but never crossed the line, here you can see Dale Rogers busting through a tackle. Like a ballerina he even managed to stay on his feet but the attack fizzled out. I do hope we have a better game next week against the premiership new boys and Gwent rivals Ebbw Vale.
