Blossoms of the Elm
A few were lying on the ground when I went early in the morning to look at the possibilities for capturing them as they are, vibrant and powerful, but fallen were lifeless and had lost the strength of colour that causes these to glow in the sun. By afternoon the tree was almost completely adorned with them, some more accessible on lower branches. However, a moderately strong and consistent wind thwarted the 'perfect' capture I had in mind:)
This is taken outside the fence where kerb-side there is a dark purple-red leafed tree. Some golden elm blossoms are hanging low enough over the fence beside it for me to stand with my arms stretched up to try a macro. I did feel impatient battling with the wind and the difficult task of a perfect blossom...and opt for this showing colour. This blossom although appearing yellow on high and golden when lit in full sun has such an intriguing colour.
