The Vale of Montgomery.

These quiet fields are the sight of the Battle of Montgomery, a battle between the Royalists and the Parliamentarians that took place in 1644. It was a short battle- but 500 men died and 1500 were taken captive.- The handsome Royalists lost-( I always did like the look of the Royalists!,) and the castle was made indefensible.
It was lovely up at the Castle this afternoon-though a tad chilly. I'll be lighting a fire tonight.
