Today's the day ............................. to be red

Have you noticed that it's a very red time of the year?

Well, at least, in our garden it is. Most of the wall are dripping with bright red Virginia creeper (not one of my most favourite plants - but we seem to be stuck with it). Then there are red berries on the cotoneaster and the holly - and rose hips - oh and lots of the wild red fuchsia flowers.

The nicest red things are these apples. We've maybe only had half a dozen of them because it's still a small tree, but they look - and taste - absolutely gorgeous .........................
