Stone Detail, Craigleith Quarry Centre

Another dreich day in Edinburgh. A busy day at work, so a blip of one of the many decorative stones that are installed on the entrance wall to the Craigleith Quarry Shopping Park. When the quarry was a proper quarry, sandstone was used in many of the buildings in the New Town in Edinburgh. It was also used in London, Chandos House, home to the Royal Society of Medicine, was also built from craigleith stone.
