Educating Wimereux
Friday morning, and the lesson today for these French children is windsurfing. How to get upright on your board, keep your balance once you've achieved that and then carefully adjust the sail to the wind so that you can make your way across the pool.
Every time I come here, I marvel at how active the children are from a very early age. You need to keep alert when walking along the esplanade to avoid rollerbladers coming along at knee height, or even below depending on how tall you are. There's a tremendous sense of fun about it all, with children nearly always being part of a family group out enjoying these activities together. Lifelong learning, bien sûr.
